Without that indefinable spirit, without the dedication, the professionalism, and any number of other enviable attributes we simply wouldn’t be the organisation that you’ve come to know and love. We’re proud of our team and thank them for their wonderful contribution and take pleasure in introducing them to you here.
The Coromandel Rescue Helicopter Trust (CRHT) was formed in 2012 and since that time has established a hangar facility for the helicopter at the Whitianga Airfield along with an adjoining house for the crew whilst based in Whitianga. The facility provides a general base of operations for Aeromedical and Emergency service providers into the region, namely the Waikato and Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopters, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter, and other local emergency services providers into the region.
With the continued increase in demand for rescue services, it was obvious that a permanent base needed to be established from which emergency service providers could operate from, particularly over the peak the summer period as the population in this area increases, so does the demand on rescue services.
The trust raises funds to ensure sustainability of Rescue Helicopter operations, together with continued investment into infrastructure and resources for the benefit of residents and visitors to the wider region.
